A weekend of baseball Achievements and Celebrations
A2 Battle in the Finals
In the nail-biting clash on Saturday, our A2 team fought valiantly against Melbourne Uni in the first round of finals with a home-turf advantage. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on our side as Melbourne Uni secured a walk-off victory in the bottom of the 8th, leaving the final score at 0-1. Despite the tough loss, our team showcased remarkable pitching performances by Bailey Wilson, who threw 4.1 scoreless innings and struck out 5 batters. Max Saggers also made a strong impact with his 3.1 innings of relief. Frank Huang swung the bat well, picking up two hits.
A3 and A4 Finals Kick Off
Meanwhile, the action wasn’t limited to one field! Down at Myrtle Park, we hosted the first round of A3 and A4 finals. A big shoutout to Jason Povey, Sarah Anton, and Dominique Williams for their invaluable help on this exciting day.
Women’s Hornets Soar to Victory
Sunday had our Women’s team, the Hornets, taking the spotlight. After a remarkable regular season, they faced off against Melbourne Uni at La Trobe. Despite being down 0-6 going into the bottom of the 4th, our Hornets showed incredible resilience. They rallied back, turning the tide and triumphing over Melbourne Uni with a final score of 9-6. This impressive victory secured their spot in the Grand Final – a historic first for the North Balwyn Women’s Program. Let’s mark our calendars for the Grand Final showdown on Sunday, the 10th of September, at 12 p.m. Go Hornets!
A1s Battle in the Home Stretch
Sunday wasn’t done delivering the baseball excitement. The A1s took the field for their last home game of the regular season. Despite a hard-fought effort, they faced a 1-3 defeat against Doncaster. But don’t fret, as their strong performances throughout the season have earned them a solid 4th place. Get ready for the upcoming finals clash against Forest Hill, taking place at Forest Hill on Saturday, the 2nd of September.

Last but certainly not least, the club wrapped up the weekend with a significant event – the Junior Presentation. A fantastic turnout from both our North Balwyn and Camberwell Grammar teams made it a memorable occasion. It’s the perfect way to conclude yet another successful Junior Season.
