Club History

Playing Since 1937

Welcome to the North Balwyn Baseball Club located in an inner suburb of Melbourne, Australia. NBBC is a winter season club that caters for all age groups, male and female, juniors and seniors, from T-Ball Masters.

Our club is located at the Myrtle Park grounds that historically on July 9, 1967 opened the first all weather Baseball Diamond in Victoria.

Our diamond, complete with two dugouts still stands today and plays host to the MWBL winter tournament clubs. The club trains on Wednesday & Thursday nights under our fantastic lights. The clubrooms offer a fully stocked canteen and bar.  There is off street parking right next to the diamond.

The club is grateful to have a well experienced coaching staff, including Phil Dale and Neil Burke.

The dedicated committee work hard to provide the best facilities, support and direction to the club, its players and families, making North Balwyn one of the largest clubs in the winter league.

THE NEW LOOK STINGERS!

In 2021, we updated our club logos, branding and uniforms. Before COVID-19 took away the 2020 season, the committee got busy working on the launch of our new look. It was important to the club that the new uniforms:

  • Make a strong statement on and off the field
  • Are comfortable
  • Affordable, and
  • Quick to produce

Sublimated jerseys tick all these boxes and much more.
We hope you like the new sublimated style jerseys as we believe the new uniform brings fresh new life into the already buzzing club!

Thank you to those involved in the process from concept to roll out. Specifically the powerhouse couple and long-time committee members, Jo and Marty Wilson!
